Heavy rain and strong winds are battering the region
Police are reporting problems on roads across the South West.
One lane of the Tamar bridge has been closed because of winds of up to 70 miles an hour, which is in turn causing traffic delays along the A38.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning about strong winds this evening. Weather forecasters predicted we could see gusts along the coast of up to 60 mph.
Accompanying this will be heavy rain leading to lots of surface water on the roads and possible localised flooding.
Driving conditions will be hazardous.
