Nominate your local hero for the Pride of Britain Awards
ITV News West Country is once again joining forces with the Daily Mirror to find the individual you think deserves to be crowned our Local Hero 2013.
You can nominate someone by the following means - go to www.itv.com/prideofbritain and follow the instructions to complete the online nomination form, or you can complete a nomination form available at any Lidl store or as outlined in The Daily Mirror. There is no limit on the number of nominations you may make.
The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain team of researchers consider every nomination sent in. Then, from a shortlist of finalists, our panel of distinguished judges will select regional finalists to go forward for the national awards. The awards categories are:
ITV Local Hero of the Year
To recognise an individual who has improved the lives of those around them in their community. For full ITV Local Hero terms and conditions which apply go to itv.com/terms
Fundraiser of The Year
To recognise a tireless charity fundraiser. Open to all over 16.
Outstanding Bravery
To recognise an individual who has put themselves in danger to help or save the life of another.
Child or Teenager of Courage
To recognise a child or teenager whose has put themselves in danger to help or save the life of another or has battled against the odds.
Lidl's Young Fundraiser of the Year
To recognise a child or teenager, under the age of 16, who has gone beyond all expectations to raise money for a good cause, however large or small the amount.
Daybreak Emergency Services
To recognise a member or members of the police, fire, ambulance, coastguard, mountain and sea rescue services who have gone beyond the call of duty.

Teacher Of The Year
To recognise a truly inspiring teacher in primary or secondary education.
Please give the name of your parent/guardian if you are under 18.
Lifetime Achievement
To recognise an individual whose achievements have been far-reaching, possibly on a national or international level.
Special Recognition
To recognise individuals who the judging panel consider to be Pride of Britain, but whose achievements do not fit into other categories. Examples include inspiring campaigners, members of the armed forces who have helped others, carers and volunteers.
If you are under 18, please make sure you have your parent or guardian permission. If your nominee is under 18, please make sure you have their parent or guardian's permission.
Nominations must be received by midnight on Friday 16th August 2013 to be considered for Pride of Britain 2013.
All nominations received after that date will be considered for Pride of Britain 2014. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
