Gromit sculptures to be unleashed on Bristol
Dozens of giant sculptures of one of country's best-loved TV characters will be unleashed onto the streets of Bristol next summer in aid of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
Leading artists and designers from around the world alongside local artists will be invited to create their own, original, one-of-a-kind Gromits for the public art exhibition, the first of its kind to feature an internationally-renowned character.
Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park is closely involved with the project and will be designing one of the sculptures on the trail himself.
The grand trail of individually-designed 5ft (1.5m) Gromits will take to the streets of Bristol and beyond for ten weeks next summer. Each Gromit will be available for business sponsorship before they are auctioned off in aid of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
