Burnt body found in supermarket car park is of a woman
Police have confirmed that the body found in a Sainsbury’s car park, in Chippenham yesterday, is of a woman in her 40’s.
At around 3am yesterday morning, a dog handler on a routine patrol discovered a fire in part of the supermarket's car park in Bath Road.
The fire service attended, extinguished the fire and the area was cordoned off.
Once the fire was put out, police discovered a body within the debris.
Police are asking for anyone who was in the area of the Sainsbury’s car park between midnight and 3am to come forward and speak to them. They may have information that will assist this enquiry.
Sainsbury’s supermarket open as normal.
