The A400M is being named in a ceremony today and will be used across all three services as an air transport aircraft. It's just one of 250 aircraft which will be taking part in the two-day eventthis weekend. Jets, transporters and historic aircraft will also be on display at the tattoo.

Fairford is the biggest military air show in the world and this year the event will have a Diamond Jubilee theme in honour of the Queen.

US Captain Kevin Fowler and First Lieutenant Terry Dowell speak about the event:

The air show has been held since 1971 but was moved to RAF Fairford in 1985. Four years ago it was cancelled for the first time because of three days of heavy rain. The event not only boosts the economy in the local area but is alsoa way for the RAF Charitable Trust to raise funds.
