Hot air balloon emergency landing in Bath city centre

A hot air balloon was forced to land close to a busy road in Bath last night [Monday] after a two-hour flight over the city.

The Bath Building Society craft had been newly restored after being nearly destroyed in a fire.

The balloon had taken off from Royal Victoria Part at 7pm but was seen flying low over Wells Road and Lower Bristol Road.

The pilot landed the balloon between between the river and Green Park Road.
