Marazion in Cornwall will today mark the 200th anniversary of its clock. The clock is one of the few in the country which has to be wound manually.

Once a week a man climbs into the tower to perform the task to make sure the clock keeps time. A benefactor paid £100 for the clock in 1812, the community came up with the other £35 needed to meet the total cost. Today local schoolchildren will parade a nine foot model of the clock through the town.

73-year-old David Eddy is a former clock winder, he did the job in the town for 30 years. Our Cornwall correspondent Steve Hardy spoke to him.
