Very sad to hear the news re: Bristol legend DJ Derek. My thoughts go out to his family & friends at this very difficult time
Maybe inevitable but truly sad news about DJ Derek if true... He was a dj legend, incredible music buff and will be v missed @bestival :(
And there should definitely be a national day of mourning in his beloved Wetherspoons-I think he'd visited and drank in all of them! #derek
in fact every time i booked DJ Derek i had to phone his landline (no email) and talk through which bus route he'd take to get there so...
he could visit a newly opened Wetherspoons en route. those phone calls were some of the most charming interactions I've ever had with a DJ!
