Three former Avon & Somerset Police Chief Constables have written to the Police and Crime Commissioner, asking Nick Gargan to resign.
The letter says that moral in Avon & Somerset Constabulary is "fragile" and that "Leaders should be inspiring not an embarrassment."
Earlier today, an independent misconduct panel recommended Mr Gargan be given eight final written warnings, as a sanction for eight counts of misconduct.
