Avon and Somerset Chief Constable Nick Gargan's sanction hearing has been announced to take place on Wednesday August 19th.
The sanction hearing follows an independent misconduct panel finding the Chief Constable was guilty of eight counts of misconduct.
It's been recommended that he gets a eight final written warnings as a sanction.
Today I received the independent misconduct panel’s report which means I can now hold a sanction hearing with the Chief Constable. It has been agreed with all parties that Wednesday 19th August is the soonest most practicable date the sanction hearing can take place.
The report is 90 pages long and I am considering the panel’s views and recommendations thoroughly ahead of the sanction hearing.
It has emerged that 24 out of 25 Avon and Somerset police superintendents voted 'no confidence' in Nick Gargan.
Today, the Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset Police, will learn his fate at a sanction hearing.
Three former Avon & Somerset Police Chief Constables have written to the Police and Crime Commissioner asking Nick Gargan to resign.
