"We will all miss her happy smile": Tribute to teenager killed in speedboat tragedy

Emily Gardner died on Saturday.

The teenager from Gloucester killed in a speedboat accident in Devon has been described as "popular, happy, friendly" in a moving tribute from her school.

14-year-old Emily Gardner attended Chosen Hill School in Churchdown. She was killed when the boat she was in capsized in Brixham harbour on Saturday. Police say her life jacket became caught when the boat overturned.

Emily was a popular, happy, friendly girl with friends across all year groups. She was chatty and charming, polite, reliable and responsible. She had just completed her application to become a school prefect. We will all miss her happy smile. Written tributes and flowers are being left at the school in remembrance of Emily.
