Cheltenham Festival: Round-up of day three
It's St Patrick's Day, and thousands of Irish racegoers have descended on Prestbury Park for the third day of the Cheltenham Festival.
Once again the event's been making the headlines for the wrong reasons. Gloucestershire Police have announced that three arrests were made yesterday (Ladies Day).
One on the racecourse for being drunk and disorderly, and then two more men in their 20s were arrested after a golf buggy was stolen from the racecourse.
However back at the festival, there was a celebratory atmosphere with people making the most of St Patrick's Day.
WINNERS
Somerset's Thistlecrack confirmed his position as the stand-out in his division as he comfortably won the Ryanair World Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Travelling beautifully for jockey Tom Scudamore, the Colin Tizzard-trained eight year-old led two out and shrugged aside the brave Alpha Des Obeaux to be crowned the champion three-miler.
