Ambulance driver killed in crash remembered one year on
Ambulance workers across Wales will today mark the one year anniversary of the collision of two ambulances in which ambulance driver John Clift died and two colleagues were seriously injured.
Mr Clift was driving a patient transport vehicle on the A499 near Pwllheli when he suffered a heart attack at the wheel. His vehicle collided with another ambulance.
In a statement his family described him as "well known and liked by many people in the local area", they said he will be greatly missed by everyone.
Today a memorial bench will be unveiled at a ceremony at Pwllheli ambulance station.
An ambulance will also be named in his honour.
