A post-mortem examination has found that an 18-year-old man whose body was found in a pub car park died from a single shot gun wound to the head.

Four men have been arrested and bailed as North Wales Police investigate the death of Peter Robert Colwell, from Capel Uchaf near Clynnog Fawr.

Peter Colwell's body was found inside a vehicle parked next to the Ship Inn pub in Llanbedrog on Sunday.

A number of experts were able to assist us in the post mortem examination and this will help us in reconstructing the events during the early hours of Sunday 5th February when Peter sustained the fatal wound.

Officers recovered the shotgun from the scene and four local men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further enquiries. These four men and the deceased were friends. Family liaison officers continue to support the family at this difficult time.

– Detective Superintendent Iestyn Davies, North Wales Police
