Police searching for missing Russell Sherwood from Neath find his car in a river

Police searching the River Ogmore have found a car they believe belongs to missing Neath man Russell Sherwood.

Mr Sherwood, 69, left his home in his silver Ford Focus with registration beginning ‘CP66’ at approximately 6.15am on Sunday, and was heading to Ewenny, Bridgend.

Police stand down river search for missing Neath man

South Wales Police has stood down the search for missing Neath man Russell Sherwood due to faded light and treacherous weather conditions.

Officers will resume the search tomorrow once safe to do so.

The police are still appealing to the public for any information to locate Mr Sherwood who became missing after he set off on a car journey on the morning of Sunday, 20 November, 2016.

Mr Sherwood, who is 69, from Cilfrew, set off from home in his silver Ford Focus with registration beginning ‘CP66’ at approximately 6.15am on Sunday, and was headed to an address in Ewenny, Bridgend.

He failed to arrive at the address.

Officers believe he reached Stormy Down, Bridgend, in his vehicle and are appealing to anybody who may have information.
