Models march to launch Cardiff Fashion Week

Models marched through the streets of Cardiff today to officially launch this years' Cardiff Fashion Week.

The models wore clothes created by Welsh designer and artist Scarlet Etoile.
The models marched to the Capitol Centre in Cardiff.

Cardiff Fashion Week is a platform to celebrate all that is great about Welsh fashion and design. The model march will be a very eye-catching curtain raiser to the week and will give people a taste of what's in store.

The environmental impact of unwanted clothes was a key message of today's events, with the models visiting a one tonne pile of clothes to demonstrate how many items are thrown away every 90 seconds across the UK.

A tonne of unwanted clothes encouraged people to think of the environmental impact of discarded items.

Cardiff Fashion Week runs from the 22nd October until the 29th, with a variety of events taking place at various locations across the city.
