Swansea fanzone announced for Euro semi-final

Singleton Park in Swansea will be turning red this Wednesday as it hosts one of the nation's biggest fanzones for the Wales versus Portugal clash in the European Championships.

Due to popular demand Swansea Council is laying on the free event in front of a giant screen which will see city-born Chris Coleman’s side battle for a place in the final of their first ever European Championship.

Wednesday night’s match will be screened on a giant screen on the Lacrosse Field. Entry will be free but fans will not be allowed to bring alcohol into the arena with them, though there will be bars and food available inside.

As the fanzone will now be at the Lacrosse Field, the big screen at Castle Square will be not be screening the game on Wednesday evening.

There are currently free fanzones arranged for the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd and at Singleton Park in Swansea for the match on Wednesday.

You are advised to check with each council whether tickets are needed.

The biggest open air Fanzone in North Wales will be at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay. Conwy council said there had been unprecedented demand.

There will also be a fanzone in Anglesey which will cost £10 per adult, £5 for under-16s and free for under-5s.

The Newport fanzone priced at £3 per adult but will be free for under-12s.
