Zack Davies jailed for life for racially-motivated supermarket attack

The man who attempted to murder an Asian dentist in a "revenge attack" for the killing of Lee Rigby has been given a life sentence. Zack Davies was told he will serve a minimum of 14 years in prison for attacking Dr Sarandev Bhambra with a machete in January.

Judge: Zack Davies poses 'significant risk' to the public

ITV News reporter Ian Lang is in court for the sentencing of machete attacker Zack Davies.

The judge said the attack on Dr Sarandev Bhambra was planned, racially motivated and 'dreadful', leaving the dentist with horrific injuries.

Mold Crown Court heard how white supremacist and Nazi material was found at Zack Davies' home

"One can only imagine the sheer terror you subjected him to" said the judge, Rhys Rowlands.

Apart from the impact on Dr Bhambra and his family, the wider Sikh community had been 'shocked to the core', he said.

He said that Davies had known what he was doing at the time of the attack.

Sentencing him to life he said he considered Davies a significant risk to members of the public.
