Two men who died after swimming near a north Wales waterfall have been named as Steffan Robert Vernon and Alexander Hadley. The men were part of a group of four who went for a swim in the water near Llanberis yesterday morning.

Coroner begins investigation into swimming deaths

Two men who died while swimming in a north Wales river have been named. Steffan Robert Vernon, from Caernarfon and Alexander Hadley, from Dinorwig, near Llanberis, both died after getting into difficulty while swimming near a waterfall in Llanberis yesterday.

North Wales Police says the deaths are not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has confirmed an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths has begun.
