Two men die after swimming near north Wales waterfall

Two men who died after swimming near a north Wales waterfall have been named as Steffan Robert Vernon and Alexander Hadley. The men were part of a group of four who went for a swim in the water near Llanberis yesterday morning.

Llanberis deaths: Men got into difficulty swimming

North Wales Police say the two men who died in Llanberis this morning were swimming near a waterfall near the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

The group of four men got into difficulty in the water.

The two who were taken to hospital have now been released.

Police were called at 8.30am.

The rescue involved he police water rescue unit, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Welsh Ambulance Service and Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team.
