Welsh Labour's disappointment at its performance last night is underlined by its share of the vote -37% is just 0.5% better than in 2010. And despite the Conservatives' gains in seats, their 27% share was just 1% up. Plaid Cymru also recorded a 1% improvement to 12% but saw no change in seats. There was a dramatic shift in support for UKIP. 13.5% is up 11% on five years ago, though the party won no seats in Wales. On the other hand the Liberal Democrats collapsed by 13.5% to 6.5% but still managed to hang on to one seat.
