Police and fire crews are working together "to ensure the safety of residents" from a major grass fire extremely close to people's homes in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire.

Burry Port fire extinguished after five hours

The fire broke out at around 4pm yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters say a gorse fire, threatening houses in Burry Port, has been extinguished.

It broke out shortly after 4pm yesterday afternoon at Gwscwm Road.

It took more than 20 personnel around five hours to put it out.
