Millennium Centre celebrates 10th anniversary year

Now an icon of Cardiff Bay, The Wales Millennium Centre is celebrating ten years since it was first opened by the Queen in November 2004.

Since its first public performance the Centre has welcomed more than 13.5m visitors and has grown to become one of Wales' most popular attractions.

A recent impact reports estimates the centre contributes £50 million per year to the Welsh economy and is now recognised as one of the UK's most successful Lottery funded projects.

Currently playing host to The Lion King, the centre is putting on a range of other performances and events to celebrate its 10th birthday.

The centre includes a 1900 seat theatre, 250 seat studio and 350 seat recital hall Credit: PA
