The sentence of Michael Pearce - who was jailed for nine years for killing a six-week-old baby - has been referred to the Court of Appeal.
The Attorney General has confirmed that the matter had been referred following complaints that the sentence was 'unduly lenient.'
The case will be heard in five to six weeks.
