New chair to lead Daniel Morgan corruption inquiry
The Home Secretary has announced a new chairperson to lead the independent panel investigating police corruption in the Daniel Morgan murder case.
Baroness (Nuala) O’Loan DBE MRIA will lead the ongoing review, which is also looking at how Mr Morgan’s family were treated by the police and criminal justice system.
"Serious allegations of police corruption have surrounded the investigations into the murder of Daniel Morgan" said Home Secretary Theresa May.
"I have previously said that the Independent Panel should leave no stone unturned in pursuing the truth"
“Baroness O’Loan has a wealth of experience in dealing with serious and sensitive cases of alleged police misconduct and corruption."
Mr Morgan, a private investigator originally from Cwmbran, was found dead in the car park of a London pub in 1987
