Pontypridd shop collapse man 'not a crime victim'

South Wales Police say the 51-year-old man who collapsed in a Pontypridd supermarket on Wednesday is no longer believed to have been the victim of a crime.

He has now been released from hospital, but faces further questions from officers.

Reports of stabbing at Pontypridd supermarket

Police in Pontypridd are currently dealing with an incident which occurred at around 12:30pm in the area of Taff Street, Pontypridd.

Officers temporarily closed Sardis Road so that a man could be taken by air ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales.The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation but early indications suggest he was assaulted.

It is unknown at this stage how serious his injuries are.
