Operation Jasmine: Families' 'relief' at review news

The families of older people alleged to have suffered abuse and neglect at six care homes in the South Wales Valleys say news of an independent review has come as a 'great relief'.

We are pleased that Dr. Margaret Flynn will be leading the review and we are confident that this will be a thorough investigation and that our voices will be heard.

We look forward to working with Dr. Flynn to ensure that the truth about the experiences of our loved ones in care homes is revealed, and that future care standards, regulation and legislation are improved so that the neglect and abuse we believe has taken place, and the pain and suffering this caused, will never occur again.
