Parks and green spaces 'fundamental to quality of life'

Margam Park in Neath Port Talbot has been awarded the Green Flag for the first time.

Neath Port Talbot was given the most Keep Wales Tidy awards for 2013 - five Green Flags, and 11 for community engagement.

Welsh Government Minister for Culture and Sport, John Griffiths, said: “Great parks and green spaces are fundamental to the quality of life of our communities. Wales is privileged to have so many quality green spaces and the Green Flag Award is instrumental in raising the standard of these spaces."
