More time to bury dead livestock

The relaxation of laws that prevent farmers burying their livestock on their land is to be extended for a further week. Farmers called for the change to help them deal with the deaths of hundreds of animals following heavy snow.

Minister rules out financial help for farmers

The Natural Resources Minister has told ITV News that he has no plans to offer more support to farmers affected by heavy snow.

Alun Davies said that a lot of businesses have been affected by poor weather and that the Welsh Government can't help them all.

He said that 18,000 farms in Wales are already receiving a total of £260million in direct subsidies.
