National Grid has announced its plans for the Mid Wales windfarm connection. Details that have been revealed include the proposed area where the substation will be built and the route the connection will take through Powys and Shropshire.
The village of Cefn Coch has been named as the preferred site for an electricity substation in Mid Wales.
A meeting was held in Welshpool today, where the National Grid made the announcement.
The plans could see the hub linked by more than 100 high voltage pylons.
Montgomeryshire Against Pylons have described the decision as a "travesty".
