SNOOKER: Jones knocked out of World Championship

Despite a startling perfomance this evening at the Snooker World Championships, Jamie Jones was edged out 13-11 by Ali Carter.

The 24-year-old from Cimla, near Neath, went into the match two frames down but managed to pull it back to within a frame.

At the Crucible it finished 13 frames to 11.

Earlier, Carmarthen's Matthew Stevens beat Ryan Day to reach his semi-final since 2005.
