Residents evacuated as fire breaks out on busy Cardiff street

An investigation is underway into a fire above a shop in Cardiff city centre. It broke out at around 9.20pm.

At its height around thirty firefighters were drafted in to tackle the blaze in Castle Street.

No-one was hurt and Castle Street has been reopened.

A busy Cardiff street has been closed by police as Fire and Rescue teams deal with a building fire.

South Wales Fire and Rescue say the incident on Castle Street, Cardiff is under control but remains ongoing.
