South Wales Fire and Rescue were called to the Biffa site, off Hadfield Road in Leckwith, after reports of an explosion.
Firefighters will carry out an assessment at 9.am.

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a Cardiff waste depot after reports of an explosion.
South Wales Fire and Rescue were called to the site off Hadfield Road in the Leckwith area on Monday afternoon.
Six engines are at the scene. There are no reports of injuries.
