450 bags of blood are needed every day in Wales, to meet demand and save patients' lives. There's now calls for 13,000 new donors to sign up every year to keep stocks healthy and to safeguard blood donations for future generations.

The Welsh Blood Service needs 450 donations every day to keep 19 hospitals across Wales with a healthy stock of blood.
They need new volunteers and anyone aged between 17 and 66, who weighs over 7st 12lbs (50kg), who is healthy and not subject to certain medical exclusions can volunteer to become a blood donor.

- Step 1 - Register online
- Step 2 - Go to a clinic
- Step 3 - Read information and fill out questionnaire to check you're fit and healthy to donate
- Step 4 - Have a confidential chat with a member of the Welsh blood service & get your iron levels checked
- Step 5 - Give blood - which takes around 10 minutes
- Step 6 - Enjoy a cuppa or cold drink and a biscuit as reward.
