Ambulance driver had heart attack at the wheel
An ambulance driver whose vehicle was in a crash with another ambulance died at the wheel from a heart attack a post-mortem examination has found.
John Clift died last week on the A499 at Y Ffor, near Pwllheli. Today it was confirmed the 54-year-old's death was due to natural causes.
Mr Clift, a former part-time fireman at Pwllheli, was driving a patient care ambulance when it was in collision with an emergency response vehicle.
In a tribute at the time Welsh ambulance chief executive Tracy Myhill said in a message to staff : ”It’s impossible to put into words the sadness this bring us all.”

Union offer support after death of ambulance driver
Union staff have said they are devastated after the death of a driver in a collision between two Welsh ambulances in North Wales.
UNISON, which represents ambulance drivers, said they would like pay tribute to Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics and technicians who came to the aid of their colleagues yesterday as well as the Welsh Air Ambulance.
Investigation launched after ambulance crash
Police in North Wales have launched an investigation into a crash involving two ambulances in Pwllheli.
The collision happened on the A499 yesterday afternoon.
All three emergency services were called to the scene and the road was immediately closed.
One of the ambulance drivers was pronounced dead at the scene and three other people were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with serious injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U060780.

Ambulance driver killed in road crash
A man has died following a road traffic collision on the A499, Y Ffôr, Pwllheli.
At 15:01 North Wales Police responded to a report of a collision involving two ambulance vehicles.
All three emergency services were called to the scene and the road was immediately closed.
The driver of one of the ambulance vehicles was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and their next of kin have been informed.
Three other people have been taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with what is believed to be serious injuries.
The A499 is expected to remain closed for the next few hours and diversions are in place.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anybody with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U060780.
