M4 reopens after lorry fire at tolls closed Second Severn Crossing
The westbound M4 has reopened six hours after a lorry fire close to the Second Severn Crossing tolls caused the road to be closed for safety reasons.

M4 reopens westbound after lorry fire
The M4 has reopened after a lorry fire shut the carriageway on the Second Severn Crossing for almost six hours.
Traffic has been diverted via the M48 Severn Bridge and there have been long delays and tailbacks.

There are long tailbacks on the M48 Severn Bridge as the M4 Second Severn Crossing remains closed after a lorry fire.
The eastbound carriageway of the M4 is open, but Gwent Police says the westbound carriageway will remain closed for the time being with no estimate as to when it will reopen.
Drivers are being diverted via the old Severn Bridge with queues of around four-miles back along the motorway.

The eastbound carriageway has now reopened, but the motorway is still closed westbound.
M4 to stay closed until at least 3.15pm, police say
Police say the M4 will remain closed in both directions at the Second Severn Crossing until at least 3.15pm.
Emergency services were called to a hay lorry on fire close to the tolls at around 12:50pm. No one was injured, but the road has been closed on safety ground due to the amount of smoke.
Gwent Police says the situation will be re-assessed at 3:15pm to see if the motorway can be reopened.

Lorry fire closes M4 at Second Severn Crossing
A lorry fire close to the M4 tolls has closed the motorway leaving drivers being diverted over the M48 Severn Bridge.
Initially the westbound carriageway was closed, but Traffic Wales says the motorway is now closed in both directions.
South Wales Fire Service says it was called at around 12:47pm and has requested assistance from the Avon and Somerset service. The fire is understood to involve a large quantity of hay.
