Police appeal after man dies in M4 junction 44 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision which took place at Junction 28 of the M4 on Monday 14th December 2015.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4.11am.

The collision involved two vehicles, an Irish registered horsebox and a Renault Scenic.

The male driver of the Horsebox was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers investigating are appealing for anyone who may have seen the horsebox on the M4 to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting 24 14/12/2015.

South Wales Police say a male driver of Ford Focus died in a crash on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 today.

The stretch between junctions 45 Ynysforgan and 44 Birchgrove was closed for around five hours.

The collision happened half a mile west of junction 44.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or the driving of the vehicle prior to the crash.

An accident between Junction 44 and 45 on the M4 has seen the eastbound carriageway close.

The incident - described as 'serious' by police - happened at around 7.43am on Sunday.

Diversions are currently in place.
