Zack Davies jailed for life for racially-motivated supermarket attack
The man who attempted to murder an Asian dentist in a "revenge attack" for the killing of Lee Rigby has been given a life sentence. Zack Davies was told he will serve a minimum of 14 years in prison for attacking Dr Sarandev Bhambra with a machete in January.

The Crown Prosecution Service says Zack Davies carried out a "vicious, racist" attack on Dr Sarandev Bhambra.
"Zack Davies’ intention to cause extremely serious or even fatal injuries to Dr Bhambra was abundantly clear" said Senior Crown Prosecutor Gareth Preston.
“It was also clear from the evidence that the heroic actions of Peter Fuller may well have prevented this horrific attack from having a fatal outcome" he added.
"Dr Bhambra continues to deal with the consequences of this terrible incident. We hope that today’s sentencing will be of some assistance to him as he seeks to move forward with his life.”

Survivor of machete attack brands Zack Davies a 'coward'
Making his first public statement since he was attacked by Zack Davies, Dr Sarandev Bhambra has questioned whether the attack could have been prevented.
He described Davies was a coward who had attacked him from behind and intended to behead him.
Judge: Zack Davies poses 'significant risk' to the public

The judge said the attack on Dr Sarandev Bhambra was planned, racially motivated and 'dreadful', leaving the dentist with horrific injuries.
"One can only imagine the sheer terror you subjected him to" said the judge, Rhys Rowlands.
Apart from the impact on Dr Bhambra and his family, the wider Sikh community had been 'shocked to the core', he said.
He said that Davies had known what he was doing at the time of the attack.
Sentencing him to life he said he considered Davies a significant risk to members of the public.

Supermarket attack victim hopes to return to work soon
Mold Crown Court has heard that Zack Davies' victim Dr Sarandev Bhambra's injuries had healed to such an extent he would be able to return to work in the near future, writes ITV News reporter Ian Lang.
The court also heard that the Dr Bhambra was in court, the first time he had attended since the attack.

A man "inspired" by Isis murderer "Jihadi John" has been found guilty of attempting to murder an Asian dentist in a racially-motivated attack.
Zack Davies, 26, shouted "White Power" and "I did it for Lee Rigby" as he targeted his 24-year-old victim with a machete and a claw hammer at a Tesco supermarket in Mold, North Wales, on January 14.
