Head teacher Graham Daniels and his deputy Bethan Thomas resigned from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe in Swansea last year after a video clip of "sex noises" appearing to come from Mr Daniels' office was posted on YouTube by a pupil.

At an Education Workforce Council hearing, both Mr Daniels and Miss Thomas - formerly Mrs Bale - admitted to taking part in sexual acts on school premises over an 11-month period between May 2013 and April 2014.

The EWC panel have now retired to consider what sanction to impose on Mr Daniels and Miss Thomas.

Options available to them include a formal reprimand, suspension or even striking their names from the teaching register altogether.

School 'running normally' after 'sex tape' complaint

The Chair of Governors at Ysgol Bryn Tawe in Swansea says the school is "running normally" as an investigation continues into an alleged sex tape.

The school has received a complaint, which did not name anyone involved. Following this, the governing body is holding an investigation in co-operation with the local authority.

"The headteacher and another member of staff are currently suspended and Mr Simon Davies, currently deputy headteacher at the school, will be managing the school for the time being.

The school is running normally and we won't be commenting further at this time.

A headteacher and fellow colleague at a school in Swansea have been suspended after an alleged 'sex tape' was leaked online.

Concerns were raised by parents of pupils at Ysgol Bryn Tawe after video footage supposedly filmed inside the school was posted online.

It is claimed the footage was recorded outside an office at the school and that 'noises' can be heard from the other side of the door.

The clip has been watched and shared hundreds of times on social media sites like Facebook and YouTube.

Although officials have refused to comment on the video's content, chair of governors Heini Gruffudd issued a statement saying headteacher Graham Daniels and another member of staff had been suspended.

Mr Gruffudd said: "The head teacher and another member of staff are currently suspended and Mr Simon Davies, currently deputy head teacher at the school, will be managing the school for the time being.

"The school is running normally and we won't be commenting further at this time."

The Welsh-medium secondary school has around 750 pupils.

During its latest Estyn inspection report, it was praised by inspectors for the quality and consistency of its teaching.
