An investigation is underway after a pensioner's body was found on a roadside in Port Talbot.

Officers were called to the A48 between Margam Crematorium and the entrance to Tata sports ground at around 10pm on Friday, where a man's body had been discovered by a member of the public.

South Wales Police says formal identification has not taken place, but it believes the man a 70 year old from the Baglan area. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

We are appealing to anyone who has seen a man fitting the description between 6pm and 10pm on Friday night to come forward. It is possible that he has walked to where he was found along the main road from Port Talbot town centre to Margam which is a busy main road.

He was dressed completely in black with tracksuit bottoms, a tracksuit top with a vest underneath and black casual shoes. He had balding grey hair, of slim build with a thin face and of average height
