House catches fire after being struck by lightning

Crews have tackled a house fire that broke out this afternoon after the property was struck by lightning.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service told ITV News that the blaze has now been extinguished and a salvage operation is taking place to rescue items from inside the house.

A house is on fire as a result of a lightning strike in mid Wales.

Mid and West Fire Service say they received a call just after one o'clock this afternoon of a house on fire in the village of Ferwig, near Cardigan.

The fire is believed to be through the roof and it's believed there are no casualties.

There are currently two appliances there and others on their way to the scene.
