Police are continuing to search for a man they want to speak to in connection with a stabbing of a woman in Cardiff yesterday.

South Wales Police say they're looking for 47-year-old Arnel Martinez Raymondo from the Roath area of the city.

The woman victim remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Police have named the man they wish to speak to in connection with a stabbing today.

Arnel Martinez Raymondo, 47, is from the Roath area of the city. Police want to speak to him following a serious assault on Penarth Road in the city, this morning.

The female victim of the assault remains in hospital in a serious condition.

We are very keen to contact Mr Raymondo and ask him to get in touch with is as a matter of urgency.

I want to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider danger to the general public.

Anyone with any information concerning this incident is asked to call 999 immediately.

A woman is in hospital with 'serious injuries' after an incident on Penarth Road in Cardiff.

Police are still dealing with the incident, which happened in the Grangetown area of the city.

Police have confirmed a person has been taken to hospital after an incident on Penarth Road, Cardiff.

They were called to the scene just after 10:30am today.

A section of the Penarth Road between North Street and North Clive Street has been temporarily closed while investigations continue.

One person has been injured and taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
