Man charged following quad bike collision

South Wales Police have confirmed they have charged a 20-year-old man in relation to the collision involving a 7 year old child and a quad bike in Pontypridd.

The man will be appearing at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates court later today.

The 7-year-old child who was air lifted from the scene has undergone surgery at Morriston Hospital and is in a stable condition after suffering serious leg injuries. His family are at his bedside.

Police would like to thank the assistance given by witnesses at the scene for the first aid treatment and the cooperation shown to the investigation team.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a seven-year-old child was hit by a quad bike and suffered "serious injuries".

South Wales Police say the incident happened at around 6pm on Tuesday at Hopkinstown, Pontypridd.

A seven-year-old boy was walking on Telekeiber Road, Hopkinstown in the general direction of Pontypridd when he was in collision with a blue Quad motorcycle.

The child suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to Morriston Hopsital.

Officers are asking witnesses who either saw the collision or the manner of riding of the motorcyclist to call 101 quoting 1500185685.
