Brown Ideye's second goal in as many games came in the 60th minute - the Nigerian holding the ball up in the box before firing low past Lukasz Fabianski.

The Baggies killed the game off with 15 minutes to go, England U-21 international Saido Berahino scoring a powerfully placed effort after being played in by Ideye.

In a game of limited chances Swansea's best chance fell to Bafetimbi Gomis in the first half - but the Frenchman could only fire straight at West Brom 'keeper Ben Foster.

The defeat at The Hawthorns leaves Garry Monk's men 9th in the Premier League.

"They deserved the win, I have no complaints. We didn't deserve anything from the game. The first half was pretty even but we didn't play with any tempo or intensity. That's what we need in our game and we didn't have it at all. West Brom, the way they set up to counter, were patient, they grew in confidence and, when they had a chance to break, they broke and got the goals they deserved. They were there to be got at and we missed the chance."

– Garry Monk, Swansea Manager
