'Fundamental change' needed in dealing with domestic violence allegations says MP
Plaid Cymru MP Elfyn Llwyd has introduced a bill in the House of Commons which would toughen up the law on domestic violence. He told MPs that changing the law would send a strong message to offenders and to police officers investigating allegations of domestic violence.

Domestic abuse should be made 'criminal offence'
Domestic violence offenders could be jailed for 14 years
Offenders found guilty of domestic abuse could be jailed for up to 14 years if a bill, presented by Welsh MP Elfyn Llwyd, is voted through parliament.
The new bill would, for the first time, ensure sentences reflect whether the domestic abuse, both physical and psychological, was part of a pattern of behaviour.
It's modelled on a similar law introduced in the US and is being backed by MPs from all parties.
Supporters say it would encourage more women to report a crime that is often neglected by the criminal justice system.
It follows a successful campaign to bring in new stalking laws in England and Wales.
Figures suggest women in Wales are more likely to be victims of domestic abuse because of financial and social factors.
