Alun-Wyn Jones: Decision to stay in Wales 'the best fit'

Ospreys have announced their delight at Alun Wyn Jones's decision to sign a new contract, keeping him with the Pro 12 club until after the next Rugby World Cup.

After making his debut in 2005, the lock has made 159 appearances for the club and has become a mainstay in the Welsh national side.

“Alun Wyn has been, and continues to be, a fantastic servant to this region and is a true role model to those around him. A natural leader, he demands the highest standards of himself and everybody in this environment, and it will be a better place with him around in the coming seasons.

Alun Wyn Jones has signed a new contract to keep him at the Ospreys until 'after the next world cup', the region have confirmed. The 28-year-old, who's won 74 caps for Wales, captained the Lions in the series-winning third test against Australia last Summer.

Yesterday, fellow Lions star Leigh Halfpenny became the latest Wales international to announce he was leaving the domestic scene to play in France.
