Police investigating the disappearance of 17-year-old Georgia Williams have charged a 22-year-old man with her murder. It follows the discovery of a young woman's body in woodland near Wrexham.

The boyfriend of Georgia Williams has paid an emotional tribute to the teenager, saying he will "never let her go" out of his heart.

Matthew Bird, 19, said he "hasn't woken up from the nightmare yet" following her death.

Yesterday detectives searching for the missing 17-year-old found a body in woodland near the Nant-y-Garth pass, Denbighshire.

The body has not been formally identified, but West Mercia Police say they believe the discovery is linked to Georgia's disappearance.

Yesterday Supt Nav Malik said evidence had come to light that Georgia died at an address in Wellington, Telford.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with her murder.

Police ask for help in finding Georgia Williams items

Officers investigating the suspected murder of Georgia Williams have asked for the public's help in finding missing possessions that belonged to the 17-year-old.

In particular they are looking for a bag, a makeup bag, her mobile phone and items of clothing.

Detectives are particularly keen to trace Georgia’s waist-length black leather-type jacket with a stand-up collar.

She was wearing it when she was last seen leaving her family’s home in Wellington, Shropshire, at 7.30pm last Sunday.

A body, which detectives believe is Georgia, was found on Friday afternoon in woodland off the Nant-y-Garth pass near Wrexham.

Mercia Police's investigation team can be contacted via the non-emergency police number 101.

Jamie Reynolds, who has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Georgia Williams, will appear at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old, of Wellington, Telford, did not speak during a five-minute hearing before magistrates in Shropshire today.

Chairwoman of the bench Ann Hird remanded Mr Reynolds, who appeared wearing a black jumper, into custody until the court date.

No friends or family were at today's hearing.
