A 22 year old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being attacked by a bulldog in Treherbert. South Wales Police say they will not take any action against the owner of a dog that attacked a woman as it is not a banned breed.

South Wales Police say they will not take any action against the owner of a dog that attacked a woman in Treherbert.

The force said that the dog responsible for the attack, which occurred inside the premises, was an American Bull Dog which is not an illegal breed.

In a statement they said that they found a 22 year old woman who had sustained serious but non life threatening wounds to her forearms as a result of an attack by a dog.

The woman owner of the dog, who is well known to the victim of the attack, agreed for the dog to be destroyed and this procedure has taken place.

The woman was taken to Royal Glamorgan Hospital for treatment, but has since been transferred to Morriston Hospital for further specialist treatment.

A 22 year old woman is in hospital with injuries to her arms after being attacked by a bulldog.

South Wales Police say they were called to a home in Baglan Street, Treherbert at 10pm last night.

A spokesman for the force said the owner of the dog had agreed for it to be destroyed.

On arrival they found a 22 year old female had been set upon by what is believed to be an American bulldog, sustaining injuries to her arms.

The female was conveyed to Royal Glamorgan Hospital for treatment to her injuries.
