A man was found dead in his hotel room by friends while on holiday in Spain, an inquest has heard.

Harvey Dominy, 21, had visited Benidorm for a holiday with his friends earlier this month.

His group of friends left the hotel at around 7pm on Tuesday, 16 July, but when they returned hours later they found Mr Dominy on the floor and without a pulse, an inquest opening at Pontypridd Coroner's Court heard on Monday, 29 July.

Emergency services were called but Mr Dominy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The court heard it is estimated Mr Dominy, from Merthyr Tydfil, had died at some point between 9pm and 10.30pm that evening.

He was identified by his friends and a post-mortem examination was carried out but didn’t provide a provisional cause of death.

Assistant coroner for south Wales central Kerrie Burge adjourned the inquest until further information is obtained from the Spanish authorities. She sent her condolences to Mr Dominy’s family.
