Arrest after vehicle hits shop front leaving main road closed in Riverside

A man has been arrested after a vehicle hit a shop front leaving a busy main road closed in Cardiff.

Police say they were called to the scene of a disturbance on Railway Terrace, Riverside shortly before 3am on Friday (October 7).

A spokesperson for South Wales police said when officers arrived, two men allegedly made off in a car which later collided with the exterior of a commercial property on Ninian Park Road, Riverside.

The force said a 33-year-old man had subsequently been arrested on suspicion of taking a car without consent and possession of Class B drugs.

The man remains in police custody and the road remains closed as the investigation continues.
